Away Meet at Northbook information
Hello Marlins, we have our first meet this Tuesday, away at Northbrook. See below for the important information for our team as we visit there.
We still need 6&under Kid Pushers for both boys and girls.
Information about Northbrook Swim Meet:
- Location: 4905 N Hills Dr, Raleigh, NC 27612-4005
- Club website: Northbrook Pool
- Warmups: Aim to arrive at 5:00 to check-in and be ready for 5:30pm warmups.
- Volunteers with meet check-in, please arrive before 5:00
- On meet nights, we reserve the parking lot for the visiting team. Northbrook families and overflow parking is along the surrounding neighborhood streets. Please pay attention to street parking signs and please do not park between the Northbrook entrance and the traffic light - cars have been towed from this area during past meets.
- Entrance to the pool area on meet nights is on either side of the clubhouse. There is a path to the left of the clubhouse that leads to the main entrance and leads directly to the area of the pool deck reserved for the visiting team, on the opposite side of the pool from the clubhouse. To the right of the clubhouse is a gate that leads directly into the pool area.
- The trees shade the visitor's side of the pool first, but there is also a grassy area for those who would like to set up a canopy or other free-standing shade structure.
- The playground next to the tennis courts, as well as the basketball/4-Square court, are both off-limits to NBK swimmers during the meet, but we don't restrict their use by the visiting team.
- We ask that swimmers use the bathrooms in the building on the visitor's side of the pool. Parents are welcome to use the restrooms inside the clubhouse (at the top of the hill). We try to limit the use of the clubhouse by wet swimmers in order to minimize slip hazards.
- For those wishing to track meet progress/results via the Swimtopia app, the PIN should be the date of the meet (e.g,, 0610 for June 10th).
- Our snack bar (at the top of the cement steps) will be open during the meet, serving various snacks and drinks. There is a water bottle filling station at the building on the visitor's side of the pool deck.
- We will have two food trucks in the parking lot from 5pm to 8:30pm. Smokehouse Bandits BBQ will be serving dinner food and Sunset Slush will be serving up delicious italian ices!
- The pool has 6 swim lanes (with starting blocks) and each lap is 25 meters.
