JCC meet details- Ribbons- Bunco- War Party
JCC Meet
Our extra exhibition meet for our neighbors at the JCC is on Thursday for those who positively declared to they were attending. Here's the information they shared about their pool. Can you volunteer in the remaining spots?
There will be NO evening practice at Lakepark on Thursday
Location
The JCC is at 12804 Norwood Road, Raleigh, 27613
Check-in for our team starts at 5pm with warmups at 5:30pm
Parking
There are four parking lots to choose from - one directly in front of the pool (between the pool and Norwood Rd), another by the older pavilion down the main entrance driveway. See the map for more info. The lot in front of the pool/playground will be primarily reserved for your families.
If that lot fills up, there are two other lots past the TreeRunner course, one to the left, up by the upper basketball courts/pavilion, and the other to the right, on the far side of TreeRunner ropes course. There is a paved path from that lot that runs behind TreeRunner directly to our building. (It’s much shorter than walking back along the driveway.) It’s well-lit and has signs.
Set Up at Pool
We have a 6 lane, 25 yard pool. When you enter the pool deck, your team’s designated area is the area right in front of you as you enter the pool area through the gate. There are a few chairs and tables but not many, so please encourage your families to bring chairs. Our pool deck also is in direct sun, so feel free to bring canopies.
The diving board and slide will be closed for the duration of the meet - please ensure your swimmers do not go near the slide or diving board equipment. Complete pool rules for the JCC can be found here.
Concessions
The JCC does not have a dedicated concession stand, but we typically arrange to have hot dogs or pizza for purchase at the event. There may also be a food truck, usually for ices or something similar. We’ll send an email with details once they’re finalized.
Your families are welcome to bring coolers of their own food. For everyone’s safety, no alcohol, tobacco, or glass containers are allowed on the pool deck during the meet.
Volunteers
The volunteer meeting will be held at 5:45pm in the sun room in the building by the pool deck.
We have filled many of our volunteer positions but still looking for
3 timers, meet admin, ribbon writer,
check-in isn't on the list but respond back if you can help us out (2 should be fine).
The JCC is planning on recognizing their senior swimmers at the meet this week.
Ribbons
- Please check the accordian folder near the microwave for your swimmer's ribbons. It's positively overflowing, especially from swimmers ages 13+ and afternoon practicers.
- Quail Hollow ran out of their ribbons last night, so don't be alarmed if you don't have all of yours. We'll get them in the near future and let you know when they're available.

War Party
Next Tuesday is our last home meet. That means three things.
1. Declare if you can attend the meet or not; please sign up to volunteer and bring concessions items. Let us know if you want some details about certain volunteer roles. Thank you to those who have recently stepped up to learn a new job.
2. WAR Party- The War Party is when swimmers, coaches and parents get together before a swim meet and decorate cars, paint faces/nails, dye their hair and anything else that is safe and BLUE! War Parties are a long standing tradition at LPK and are a fun way to build team spirit and get pumped for the meet!
3. We will honor our senior swimmers.
Our Marlin Messenger will return next week, and we're so excited to share our win against Quail Hollow yesterday. There were also some pool records broken!!!
You can always catch us at the swim team by responding to this email or emailing [email protected]
