    Book Sale- trophies- local tragedy

    Save the Date:  Book Sale
The pool has scheduled the book sale for Sunday, September 7th from 10 am - 4 pm. We will accept gently used books from Tuesday, September 2nd through Friday, September 5th. We will shortly have a sign up for volunteer help sorting the books during the week. You can help by volunteering, donating and/or shopping at the sale! Stay tuned for more details.

It's been a couple years since we've had a book sale, so sort through yours to see what you can contribute!  It's always a fun time. Proceeds support the swim team.

    Still distributing trophies
Respond to this email if you still need to collect your swimmer's trophy or plaque for competing in meets with us this season.  Most have found their owners at this point, but there are still some more.  Let us know before they go into storage!

    From our TSA president:
You may have seen this tragedy on the news which has an impact on one of our TSA teams.  Sharing this if anyone feels in their heart to contribute.  They are in our thoughts...

It is with sadness that I'm reaching out to the league to notify you of a tragedy that has struck one of our own on the TSA BOD, a family friend of hers, and the community of the Brighton Forest swim team.

As you may have seen in the news over the past few days, Jennifer Stehle was involved in devastating boating accident over the weekend that left her severely injured and in critical condition, and the incident also ended in the loss of a family and swim team friend, 10 year old Brooklyn Mae Carroll. As one can imagine, the community is reeling from this devastating event as they try to make sense of this tragedy.

The community is rallying around the families to provide as much logistical and emotional support as they can and have also organized Gofundme pages to help ease the financial burden that both families will have to endure as they navigate the next several months, and difficult years ahead.

Jennifer will have to endure multiple surgeries, procedures, weeks in the hospital, and ongoing rehab care. Donations will help to offset some of these medical bills, lost time at work, and meals for the family.

Donations for Brooklyn's family will assist with funeral costs, meals, and lost time at work during this incredibly difficult time for her family. A scholarship fund has also been created in her name to help support aspiring veterinarian students in the community as she had a strong passion for animals.

Any amount, big or small, will help. And of course, please be respectful of their privacy during this time as they heal and mourn.

    Very sincerely,

    -Shawn
