2026 Season Updates

We have several items to share with you this week. First, we are thrilled to announce the hiring of two coaches and expect additional assistant coaches to come on board within the next month. We introduce a new-to-us Head Coach Gavin Formon and welcome back Coach Kenley Myers as an associate head coach. You can view their bios on our website and read below at the end of the email.  

Registration will open next week. We will send out another email when registration will be live. Early bird pricing is $145 through May 16, which will include a t-shirt. Don’t forget to join the pool!

Welcome Coach Gavin!
Hey Lakepark! My name is Gavin Formon and I am excited to get to know and coach all of you this summer! I am graduating from The College of New Jersey this spring with a degree in Economics and minor in Finance. I have been swimming my whole life, starting with swim lessons when I was 4 years old, followed by club swimming and most recently as a member of the TCNJ Men's Swim and Dive Team. While at TCNJ, I have served as a captain of the team for two years and been fortunate enough to qualify for Division III NCAA's all four years. My favorite event is the 400IM and I also compete in the 500 FR and 1650 FR. Since moving to North Carolina after my freshman year of college, I have been swimming and coaching with New Wave Swim Team during breaks from college. I never personally swam summer league when I was younger, as it was not as popular in New Jersey but I am excited to get involved this summer. Like I said, being from New Jersey, made me a New York Jets fan, which sadly has been a rough few years to watch. But luckily, I now am a Hurricanes fan and go to some of the games with my family when I am back from college. I have two dogs, Charlie & Gromit and love to take them on hikes. Some of my other hobbies include spending time outdoors, watching soccer and playing video games. Some other quick fun facts are my favorite food is Ice Cream, I go to England every August to visit family/friends, I have 2 younger sisters and a younger brother, and I can name almost every country in the world. I look forward to becoming a part of the Lakepark family this summer!

Welcome back Coach Kenley!

Hey, my name is Kenley! I am 18 and graduating from Leesville Road High School. I have been assistant swim coach for the past three years, work at British Swim School, and have swam for 12 years. I enjoy babysitting, nannying, cooking, traveling, shopping, hanging out with friends and family, and being a swim coach! I love working with children and will be attending UNCW in the fall with a major in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Psychology. I’m so excited to be associate head coach this summer! Go Marlins!!
