Blue & White Meet on Saturday
We are getting all the details of the Blue & White meet organized today. TODAY please check that you have….
- Declared whether your swimmer(s) can attend (tutorial)
- Sign up for a concession item and please consider volunteering
In need of….
- a meet admin
- 4 timers
- 9/10 girls kid pusher
- more donuts
Reminders:
Swimmers will arrive a little before 8am to check in at a table near the corner near the bathrooms. Volunteers will check off your swimmer’s name being present and write a number on their arm. This helps timers and other volunteers know exactly who your swimmer is throughout the morning. If you’re volunteering, you can check in here and ask about your job. We’ll help you out.
Warmups start at 8:00am. Swimmers will practice some skills and starts and coaches can give reminders about how the meet works. If this is your first meet, know that there are dozens of volunteers who can direct you and your swimmer to the right place. The best place to view your swimmer is from the side of the pool.
There will be a volunteer meeting a few minutes before the meet for timers. If you find there is a last-minute emergency that your swimmer or you as a volunteer cannot make it, please let our TSA rep Heather Watts know with a text or call to (919) 219-7490
Pack: Plenty of towels, money for concessions, possibly a comfy camp chair but we should have plenty of pool seating this Saturday with just our team there.

Question of the Week
Why do the swimmers get a number written on their arms?
First, we assign a number to each swimmer for the season as an identifier and it’s used for check-in to see if they’re present. The kid pushers will get a list of the present swimmers to gather for each event.
Secondly, it’s much easier for volunteers around the pool to very quickly identify swimmers by their number. Everyone looks very similar when they’re wet and in the same suit. Sometimes the clerk of course has to quickly move swimmers into different lanes and the timers can see who they have more accurately than asking names.
You can respond to this email with questions you have. Our website has a lot of information is updated all that time.
